  • The property should be residential (commercial and industrial properties aren't eligible).
  • You should have the property ownership and roof rights.
  • You should have an active DISCOM electricity connection.
  • You must have at least 80 sq. ft. of shadow-free rooftop space for a 1 kW solar system.

How to Apply for PM Surya Ghar Subsidy?

  1. Register on the National Portal Register on the PM Surya Ghar portal using your consumer number and Aadhaar OTP.
  2. Apply for Rooftop Solar Submit your rooftop details and preferred system size to complete your application.
  3. Choose an MNRE-Registered Vendor Select an MNRE-approved installer like SolarSquare for a site survey.
  4. Get Your System Installed Your approved vendor installs the solar system using DCR panels and certified components.
  5. DISCOM Inspection & Net Meter DISCOM inspects the system and installs a net meter.
  6. Submit Commissioning Certificate Upload the commissioning certificate on the National Portal to initiate the subsidy process.
  7. Subsidy Credited to Your Bank Receive the subsidy directly in your bank account, typically within 30–45 days after commissioning.
